Did you choose your frequency today? Or was it chosen for you?
How would you even know if you were living at the wrong frequency? What does it actually feel like?
About six years ago for me, it felt like struggle was normal. The cliché of the long-suffering artist was one I didn’t even want to admit I had been living—but I was. Decades of moving from one gig to the next, picking up whatever other work I could find to support my family, staying on the mouse wheel of trying to “make it” as a musician.
Over the years, I had even come to see the struggle as noble. Proof that my sensitive soul had no place in a materialistic world. The misunderstood musician archetype was wearing thin—but I didn’t know how to break free from what had become so deeply familiar.
It never occurred to me that I might be stuck in a frequency I hadn’t even chosen.
But when the frequency of the whole world seemed to change overnight in 2020, I was compelled to start asking questions I had never asked before. Including: what is a healing frequency?
In the midst of that global disruption—when fear and confusion were driving people toward all kinds of questionable decisions about their health—I began searching in earnest for something true. While exploring literature on the true nature of contagions and natural health, I kept coming across references to an alternative tuning standard. One that many musicians—including Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Ziggy Marley, and Ed O’Brien from Radiohead—and sound healers around the world had been using for years.
Not 440Hz. But 432Hz.
As a musician, I thought I knew something about sound and the frequencies that make it up. Low frequencies, mid-range, high frequencies—I understood the spectrum in a general sense. But somewhere within that seemingly infinite range was a frequency that had eluded me across more than three decades of writing and producing music.
I am primarily a songwriter and singer—not a virtuoso who can play every instrument or sight-read complex notation. I have always been about the feel. Analysing minute differences in frequency was never something I spent much time on. My focus was on the words and the feeling that connected them to the music. The technical side I happily left to my collaborators.
But that changed when I discovered a simple and surprisingly powerful way to transform the feel of everything I recorded: change the tuning frequency.
Most music is tuned to A=440Hz—a measure of how many times a sound wave completes its cycle per second. It was something I had never thought to question. Every guitar tuner I owned was set to 440Hz. My digital audio workstation defaulted to 440Hz. It simply never occurred to me that another option existed.
But it did.
Reading about the healing benefits of 432Hz felt a little “out there” at first, I’ll admit. How could a difference of just 8Hz transform standard music into something healing?
Many people believe it can’t. A quick Google search on the healing powers of 432Hz will surface plenty of scepticism—most of it dismissing the idea as woo-woo or unscientific. But the real truth is that science is catching up to what ancient healers appear to have known for millennia: 432Hz is something special.
Studies are increasingly attesting to its exceptional qualities. One in particular found that music tuned to 432Hz was associated with measurable decreases in blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate compared to the same music tuned to 440Hz. The body, it seems, responds differently—more calmly, more naturally—to a different frequency.
I experienced this myself. As soon as I began recording at 432Hz, something shifted. A sense of greater ease. Greater alignment. As though the music had been slightly out of tune with something deep inside me—and now it wasn’t.
But something else happened when I moved to 432Hz.
I stopped being a musician.
I began living what I now call my high achiever frequency.
It sounds dramatic. Because it was.
Though the full transition took a couple of years, I eventually sold all my guitars—except my very first nylon string—along with my amps and all the gear I had used for live performance. If someone had told me before I discovered 432Hz that I would one day walk away from music, I would not have believed them. Being a musician was not just what I did—it was who I was. An identity I had inhabited almost every single day since I was fifteen years old.
Nearly four decades in the same tuning. And then—a shift of just 8Hz—and everything changed.
Around the same time, I began studying to become a Freedom From Self-Sabotage coach. As a lifelong student of human psychology and self-empowerment, I thought I already had a solid understanding of the subconscious mind. But going deeper into that study, I finally grasped just how powerful—and how dominant—that part of the mind truly is.
I fully understood, for the first time, why repetition is the mechanism through which the subconscious is formed. And why, therefore, over 95% of our lives are run by what we have simply become most familiar with.
That’s why I had stayed stuck in struggle for so long. Not because struggle was my destiny. Because it was familiar. And the subconscious loves the familiar more than almost anything—more than growth, more than joy, more than being better.
Freed from the old tuning and armed with this deeper understanding of the subconscious, I kept exploring the potential of sound frequency to create lasting, positive change at the deepest level. That exploration led me to binaural beats—and the remarkable way they can be used to entrain the brain into deeply receptive states for hypnosis and reprogramming.
It was a genuine eureka moment: I could see exactly how to bring all of this together into a single, unified modality.
I called it PATH Coaching—Personalised Affirmations Theta Hypnosis.
It is the result of everything I have studied, everything I have lived, and it’s the reason I sold all my guitars.
Because my old 440Hz life ended when my 432Hz began.
Now, as a PATH coach, my work is helping people retune their lives to their own high achiever frequency. Every personalised healing frequency hypnotherapy track I create is built on a uniquely composed 432Hz binaural beat foundation—because I have experienced first-hand, and witnessed again and again in my clients, the quiet but undeniable power of shifting your frequency, even just a little.
And there is a powerful metaphor in the act of choosing to walk away from the standard-tuned life.
It is not only musicians, artists, and writers who can benefit from releasing the struggle-as-normal mindset. Anyone who has ever felt stuck in an old and all-too-familiar identity can step into the best chapter of their life—if they are willing to retune. Just a little.
Even if 432Hz offers nothing more than an opportunity to make a conscious choice to do something different—it is worth the enquiry. Worth trying for yourself.
It did something extraordinary for me. It called in a whole new life.
Maybe 432Hz will do the same for you?
